Klaverson – “Smooth Water”

/

Mellow synth pulses and entrancing vocal deepness envelop on the magnetic “Smooth Water,” the sophomore single from Klaverson. The London-based project comes from Jack Lintorn, a singer/songwriter, producer, and visual artist.

Following ample success with debut single “I’m Coming Home,” “Smooth Water” finds Klaverson continuing the project’s refined electronic pop sound, heavy on texture and atmosphere while still emphasizing replay-inducing hooks.

The nocturnal, murky soundscape throughout is bolstered by superb vocal production. The husky initial vocals crawl alongside the quaint synths, touting a sense of electro-laden momentum reminiscent of Junior Boys. An added layer of vocal reflection provides a dynamic contrast and hook-friendly appeal, especially as the hypnotic synths and steady percussion merge cohesively in the final minute. “Smooth Water” is a moody and inventive pop success from Klaverson.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2022’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Electronic.
