Stereo Glow – “Captivation”

//

Soaring vocal hooks and shimmering guitar lines enamor throughout “Captivation,” a new single from Stereo Glow, a duo from Camp Hill, PA. Jangly guitars glide into an acoustical underlying and dreamy vocal charm; the track’s initial alternation between jangly power-pop and glistening singer/songwriter makes for an enticing rollout.

The soaring dual-vocal hook, arriving just prior to the one-minute turn, exudes colorful enthusiasm in its vibrant vocal harmonizing and jangly accompaniments. The halted guitar work builds cohesively back into the more dazed verses, expertly maneuvering between power-pop immediacy and psych-pop hypnotics. A delectable guitar solo rounding the second minute plays with further compelling allure, as does the hooky “through another door,” switch-up.

“Captivation” is the debut single from Stereo Glow’s upcoming album, which I’ll absolutely be anticipating.
