Double Triangle – “Peony Blossom”

/

“Peony Blossom” is a shimmering electronic single from Double Triangle, a UK-based artist from Harlow, a town in Essex. Growing up on the likes of Depeche Mode and Erasure, the artist excels with a melodic and atmospheric instrumental electronic sound throughout “Peony Blossom.”

An effervescent synth-forward swell drives to a bouncy percussive steadiness, as the synths assume a more understated glistening in conjunction with bass-y spurts. The sparkling aesthetical qualities stand out, particularly as the synth twinkling coincides with the buzzing bass line and no-frills rhythmic direction. Synth stabs at the three-minute turn evolve into a spacey expanse, as an eerier and elongated layering takes hold alongside. The final minute weaves percussive thumps and a ghostlier synth tone for ample intrigue, capping off “Peony Blossom” with a satiating glow.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
