The Landing – “In the Great Unknown”

A colorful synth-forward pop success from The Landing, “In the Great Unknown” is one of many standouts from the artist’s new album, Beautiful Human, Beautifully Human.

The project of D.C. native and Brooklyn-based artist Jon Bell, The Landing touts a dynamic charm here, from the lounge-friendly “gonna follow you,” lushness to the spacey synth-laden soundscapes throughout. “Somewhere far from home, in the great unknown,” the central hook exudes, touting a contagious, adventurous spirit — prompting a desire to explore into the great unknown. It’s an aptly constructed atmosphere for the clasically trained musician and amateur astronomer, who has impressed in the past with gems like “No Such Thing as Normal” and “Outersphere.”
