Mick J. Clark – “There’s Nothing Anybody Can Do”

/

UK-based artist Mick J. Clark provides a warming, melodic timelessness on the single “There’s Nothing Anybody Can Do,” exuding a breezy singer/songwriter charm that plays as an audible antidote to heartbreak. A string-laden emotion coincides with twangy guitars as vocals reflect on how “mending a heartache can be quite cathartic,” — driving seamlessly thereafter into the replay-inducing title-referencing section. “Wipe away your tears, it won’t be long before your friends appear,” Clark sings, emphasizing the importance of friendship to help persevere through being spurred by one’s partner.

“There’s nothing anybody can do, there’s nothing anybody can say,” the solemn remarks consume with a consuming vulnerability, firmly capturing how — in the throes of heartbreak — there’s nothing that can be said to remove the pain entirely. Eventually, though, companions and true friends emerge. Clark’s melodic songwriting continues to shine, evident on previous features like “Anuther Sunny Hulliday” and “At Last.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
