Tennessee May – “Is It Real or a Dream?”

An impactful new track from Tennessee May, “Is It Real or a Dream?” blends serene synth-touched pop and memorable lyrical introspection, framing a personal rebirth of sorts — particularly, the hope that soul and self will again live in unity within a kinder world.

A gorgeous mixture of organs and heavenly choir vocals open the production, achieving a dreamy allure as the lead vocals dazzle melodically and in their personal thematic hold. “I write like I don’t know what I mean, like I can never be sure, like is it a real or a dream,” the vocals let out, compelling amidst twinkling layers of synths. “Nothing ever grows back, but maybe I haven’t tried,” the vocals continue, exuding glimpses of perseverance following tumult and the sense of losing oneself, though hopefully temporarily. “Is It Real or a Dream?” is an affecting standout from Tennessee May.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
