SHORT BITS – #14

The Rolling Stones don’t have any issues with Bush personally, after all. Despite earlier reports of Mick Jagger refusing to give up hotel reservations to Bush, it turns out none of it is true at all. I hope some emo band doesn’t turn the situation into a new pointless political song. ( source )

Another false report: Michael Jackson and 50 Cent will not be collaborating for a new song, which was supposively titled ‘Now That I Found Love’, featuring Lucy Diamonds as well. It was a false press release sent by a spammer through email. Without checking much into sources, Rolling Stone and MTV and various other large media outlets reported it as true. Oh, I wish it was though… imagine the music video! ( source )

Kanye West was added to the Coachella lineup ( source ), while The Subways and Hard-Fi pull out ( source ). Red Hot Chili Peppers will be at the Voodoo Music Experience ( source ). One thousandth article with the Arctic Monkeys discussing their newly arrived fame and popularity ( source ). Oh yeah, go ahead and vote for the ‘Sexiest Vegetarian’ at the PETA web site. I don’t understand most vegans… but go Moz ( source ).

Of course, The Smashing Pumpkins are officially reuniting. Well, half the band. Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin will be in the band, leaving out our good friend James Iha and D’Arcy Wretzky. It’s odd though, wasn’t Zwan the same thing as this though? Zwan chose the wrong songs to put on the album, and Billy’s solo album was crappy for the most part. Regardless, they will record an album in the summer and being the Pumpkins fan I am, I will try to see them live regardless. ( source )

New songs have made their way online from The Libertines and Babyshambles. The b-sides are entertaining, and along with Pete Doherty’s gigs of unreleased material floating around, fans of his should be entertained for awhile while he sorts out his legal messes. ( source )

The new Disney movie “Meet The Robinsons” will feature new songs from Rufus Wainwright and Rob Thomas. The movie is about a 12-year old genius inventor and his rival of sorts. I’d like to see Wainwright croon about that! Just kidding… but still, anything Wainwright puts out is enjoyable, it seems ( source ).

The Doors will soon have live shows available to be download from their site, that range from 1967 to 1970. It will be organized by the same company who handled Pearl Jam’s downloadable bootlegs. Pretty cool ( source ).
