Marissa Nadler Announces New Album

Marissa Nadler has another album on the way, this one called The Sister. It will be released on May 29th through her own Box of Cedar Records. As it is aptly titled, the album is the “sister” to her self-titled release last year, which was our 36th favorite album of 2011.

The eight new songs are “subtly linked” to Marissa Nadler, though The Sister promotes a stronger central narrator brought on by Nadler’s adoration of “confessional songwriters”. “I realized I had muses all around me,” she said in the press release, “childhood, betrayal, friendships, new love, nature, or hope.” Check out the teaser video for The Sister below.
