Kid Coyote’s “Full Moon Rising” is a great piece of developing songwriting with strong atmospheric control. The intro’s distant bloop-y synths and creaking acoustics lend the haunting vocals an aptly sparse backdrop, allowing the sultry and smoky vocals to take lead in building an intoxicating soundscape. The infectious “take it down” interlude provides a nice infectious break, with the final minute providing a soaring meshing of spacey electronica and immediate pop. The impressive track is off the Boston-based project’s upcoming album On Borrowed Lawns.
