Chris Robley – “Let You Go”

/

Chris Robley was featured on Obscure Sound way back in 2007, when the primary means of submissions came via snail mail. Things are quite different and streamlined now. with the digital formats — though some things remain the same. Specifically, many featured acts from a decade ago continue churning out quality material, like Robley. Produced by Jeff Stuart Saltzman (Typhoon, Menomena, Stephen Malkmus, Decemberists, etc.), “Let You Go” was released yesterday, and is a stirring reminder of Robley’s talents as a songwriter. Deep guitar cuts and passionate vocals flow over a bustling rhythm section, the “how could you shut me out right now,” hook succeeding on all fronts. The track wonderfully integrates alternative-rock’s typical guitar presence with a deep, underlying rhythm section touting electronic currents.

“Let You Go” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2018’ Spotify playlist.
