Golden Chow – “You Don’t Know”

///

“You Don’t Know” touts a timeless-sounding pop melody in its verses, shimmering with a psych-friendly charm. The new track from Brooklyn-based act Golden Chow is an impressive one, one of five tracks from their recently released EP, streaming below. Especially when the choir-like multitude of vocals enter the fold in the warm chorus, comparisons to Foxygen are evident. It’s first apparent at the 40-second mark, and works seamlessly in guiding from the psych-friendly folk aptitude of the verses into a more twinkling, hooky pop exterior. “You Don’t Know” transports me to sunshine-filled psych-pop with versatility.

“You Don’t Know” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock.
