The Cool Moonmist Mountain Band – “Lofi Spliff”

/

The Cool Moonmist Mountain Band are a psychedelic trip-hop act from Seattle. Their new EP Fire Sign is a nice showing of their eclectic, creative sound. Following up their previous recording, Live in Studio 11/14, the EP shows infectious and atmospheric sounds — in a similar realm as acts like The Chemical Brothers and Om Unit. Aesthetically, I’m also reminded of Neon Indian’s Vega Intl. Night School album. Among my favorites on the EP is “Lofi Spliff,” which evolves from a blistering synth arpeggio into a funk-tinged, entrancing memory.

“Lofi Spliff” and other memorable tracks released in July can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.
