Kaleurs – “Beach Freaks”

/

Kaleurs’ songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Nik Birkemeyer wrote the band’s new EP, Gently into the Night, with introspection in mind. Specifically, the band’s aesthetic successfully aims to bring “a notion of relief to the table representing a type of escape of said introspection.” As such, the “get away from it all,” repetition in the bridge of “Beach Freaks” plays with an enjoyable feeling of escapism, one that aligns nicely with the chilled-out guitar waves and vocal tone. “Beach Freaks” is a track fit for lounging around and forgetting about life’s stresses, a surefire success from Birkemeyer, Joe Brocklehurst (lead guitar, vocals), Ash Martin (drums), and Leo Troy (bass, vocals).
