The Colonies – “More Than Fine”

/

“More Than Fine” is a passionate rocker from The Colonies, the first single from their upcoming album. Kicking off right away with escalating guitars, “More Than Fine” is a briskly consuming listen. Its chorus touts a melodic sound, feeling parts power-pop and garage-rock, and emphasizing a nice contrast from the rawer verses. A saxophone emerges around 02:03, adding an enjoyable smoothness to the excitement.

Band member Pete Stevens says the following about the track: “We feel like a lot of our songs discuss the bad parts of being with someone, and the bad parts after they left. ‘More Than Fine’ is like the silver lining, the one that comes when you realize what happened was actually for the best.”

“More Than Fine” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2020’ Spotify playlist.
