Rujen – “Tarot”

/

“Tarot” is a satiating rocker with psych-friendly elements, from Atlanta-based five-piece Rujen. The psych-friendly sensibilities are especially apparent shortly after the two-minute turn, when a caressing bass line, spacey guitars, and twinkling keys exude a Jefferson Starship-esque enjoyment. The segment ends with a satisfying burst of guitars, escalating toward the swift vocal re-emergence. “Tarot” is a nice showing of Rujen’s engaging rock sound. The band, who first caught my ear with their debut EP Elsewhere last year, continues to impress.

“Tarot” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
