Harvey Waters – “Tile”

/

“Tile” is a beautifully textural rocker from Harvey Waters, riding on hypnotic guitar twangs that escalate enjoyably alongside emotive vocals. Following the three-minute mark, an intense wave of guitar-based distortion adjusts seamlessly into a lusher, twangier disposition. Such a moment provides indication of the artist’s knack for cohesive tonal distinction, retaining a cohesive melodic focus while still adjusting flawlessly from murky distortion to dreamy allure. “Tile” is a consuming success from the Chicago-based artist, showing a mesmerizing vein of guitar-driven textural build-up that rewards multiple listens.

“Tile” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2020’ Spotify playlist.
