Building from an understated, observational tone into a hooky anthemic fervency, “Disappearing” is a new single from Salsola, a band from Stockton-on-Tees, UK. “There’s something behind her eyes,” the opening lyrics convey alongside slight guitar jangles. The “she feels everything,” bridge leads into a vibrantly melodic hook, asking “is it better off this way?” into a further unveiling of shimmering guitars. The vocals project a captivating, emotive power in this section, the bright guitars accompanying with a strong melodic pull.

The mid-point alternation between dreamy guitars and more rock-friendly distortion consumes further, enjoyably readying into a final hooky “one last time,” refrain. “Disappearing” is structurally lively and hook-friendly throughout, captivating from its opening quaintness to the swelling anthemic pull of the latter sections. The track admirably continues the band’s recent successes.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2022’ Spotify playlist.
