Wearebaby – “NPR Interview”

“NPR Interview” is a new single from Wearebaby, a duo from Columbus, Ohio. Ringing guitars and sporadic dashes of synths complement Dena’s emergent vocal rise, culminating in the confession: “You only like me ’cause I always listen to you, but I am not your NPR interview.” Following, a dreamy sequence of keys envelops into a soothing wordless vocal entry.

Jason’s charismatic guitar work is highlighted thereafter, especially throughout the gripping second half. Here, organs and hooky guitar lines intermingle amidst a dual vocal punch, trending the track into a delectable fusing of power-pop and psych-rock. “NPR Interview” is a solid output from Wearebaby.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2022’ Spotify playlist.
