“Dance Class” is a new single from Manchester-based artist Phoenix Mundy. References to sunscreens and beaches play aptly amidst lush guitar plucks and tropical key spurts. Buzzing guitar distortion invigorates past the first minute, before traversing seamlessly back into the initial verses’ breeziness.

Playful, dreamy guitar-based correspondences kick into a percussive kick and further alt-rock distortion past the two-minute turn, as the bass-hoppy “know about anything,” verses follow with amiable endearment. The track expertly balances quainter verses with an uptick in ardency throughout the chorus, maintaining a cohesive passion throughout.

Per Mundy, the track is “all about letting go, embracing silliness and trusting yourself to do the things that scare you.”

“Dance Class” represents the lead single from Mundy’s upcoming album, set to release later this year.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2022’ Spotify playlist.
