SECOS – “Moon”

“Moon” is an ardent rocker from Las Vegas-based act SECOS, pursuing a dreamy sense of yearning reminiscent of Wild Beasts. Per the band, the track’s “theme is centered between a conversation with the love of your life that only exists in your head.”

Tranquil percussion and sporadic guitar pulses complement a melancholic vocal yearning to start. The guitar work and rhythms excel briskly in concurrent form, the “just wanna lift you off your feet,” romancing playing with a genuine fervency. The ensuing “I hope it’s true,” vocal evolution captivates as well; the segue into lusher contemplative vocal wandering around 01:30 plays invitingly, showcasing the versatile vocal passion (and conjuring that Wild Beasts comp). A delectable guitar-based eruption follows. “Moon” is a lovely success from SECOS.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2022’ Spotify playlist.
