The Wax Worms – “Laura”

//

“Laura” is a yearning rock crooner from The Wax Worms, a six-piece based in Miami. The band’s ’60s and ’70s inspirations are worn proudly throughout. Passionate vocals, dramatic organs, and suave guitar licks concocting a nostalgic allure that centers around the track’s namesake. A fervent dose of rock guitars emerge thereafter, escalating into rousing psych-rock display that slides seamlessly back into the title-referencing hook. “Laura” is a melodic standout from The Wax Worms.

Per the artist: “The song is a true-life romance about finding a love that once felt impossible, and overcoming the self-doubt that holds us back from being happy. It was released on Laura’s 23rd birthday.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2022’ Spotify playlist.
