Irish trio Unstuck compel with a charismatic rock sound on “Anne-Marie,” their newest single. A steady rise from quaint guitar strums into a bouncy bass envelopment occurs quickly, with a chirpy tonal quality driving into the invigorating title-referencing hook. A delicious melodic shift occurs thereafter, with twangy guitars and plucky bass eruption with captivating results, before a hazy conclusion.

The track stands out with its melodic charm and energetic composure, touting a dynamic song structure and convincing energy throughout. There’s a sense of ’90s alt-rock nostalgia apparent in the more enjoyably raucous moments, with a touch of modern shine, especially in the jangly entrancement within the second half shift. Drawing praise in the Dublin live circuit and with tracks like “Anne-Marie,” the trio have an EP planned for 2023, alongside many new live shows.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2022’ Spotify playlist.
