Beano Naboo & The Real Keepers – “Strange Life”

An impressive track from Beano Naboo & The Real Keepers, “Strange Life” muses how life is precisely that — strange and seemingly directed by “riptides,” — alongside soaring vocal vibrancy, moody piano, and catchy guitar lines.

“What a strange life,” the vocals repeat throughout, with climactic appeal especially amidst pulsing piano and thumping guitars as the second minute arrives. An ascending vocal pitch approaching this sends chills, with percussive fervency in the conclusion adding further vigor, with shades of Spoon.

The standout track comes via the Wales-based band’s new album, Juice:

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2023’ Spotify playlist.
