splendora21 – “entirely”

//

Exuding a hypnotic pop sound reminiscent of Big Thief, “entirely” is a standout new track from the duo splendora21. Their sophomore original single achieves a grounding quality with the warm, fuzzy guitar murmurs complementing the stirring vocals of Tiff Sutcliffe. “Your face in the car, on the way to the west coast,” Sutcliffe sings, fit for road trips toward a brighter future.

There’s a serenely contemplative quality throughout, exceling with the shimmering guitar jangles underlying approaching the second minute. “entirely” transports listeners to a road trip of yesteryear, with warm sunlight hitting the car windows with perfect precision.

The act elaborate on the track:

“We wrote this song almost “entirely” (hehe) over 2 days after a road trip to California. The song is about acquiring a deep friendship with someone and the fear of losing something so special. Our friend Danny from the band Husbands worked on it with us and mastered it.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist.
