Holysloot – “Plans for Later”

Amsterdam-based collective Holysloot show an infectious intrigue on new single “Plans for Later,” coming from their forthcoming debut album, out next year.

The heavy bass pulsations and debonair vocals lead a confident introduction, excelling into a lusher synth-touched sequence approaching the one-minute turn. The evolution from grimier post-punk suaveness into the effervescent, hooky section makes for a compelling, cohesive entrancement — bolstered further by attention-grabbing synth/guitar interplay into the twangy envelopment in the final minute.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2023’ Spotify playlist.
