CAROUSELS – “I Can’t Stop the Rain from Falling”

/

With their latest single “I Can’t Stop the Rain from Falling,” Copenhagen-based rock band CAROUSELS craft a moody sound alongside title-touting laments. The final minute eases into a colorful synth-forward pull. The bass-heavy introduction, with vocals conveying a sense of pressure and a quest for “the truth behind the signs.” The understated vocals excel with cohesive engagement into the title-bearing emotion.

The band elaborates on the track:

“It’s about going through a series of difficult life events, and many friends and family trying to rationalise and spiritualise the reasons for why. Meanwhile, few acknowledged and tuned into the pain and hardship experienced, making the whole situation more difficult to go through.

Musically the started from literally the first riff placed on a newly acquired hofner “beatles” bass and the aim was to write a song that captured the sound of a spy film taking place on the French Riviera.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.
