Blueprint Tokyo – “Stand and Deliver”

/

A hooky fusing of piano and guitars stir with emotive appeal on “Stand and Deliver,” the latest single from Oklahoma City-based band Blueprint Tokyo. They impressed earlier this year, with the Cinema Sounds EP. The band describe the track as “all about looking within,” emphasizing themes of honest conversations and the importance of building enduring relationships.

Emotive piano pulses and lush vocal pushes drive to the “let’s build our heart right here on the floor,” with prancing piano and buzzing synths coalescing for ample stylistic intrigue. The “are you going somewhere, my love?” questioning expands into brisker percussion and further synth prominence, as the vocals ascend emotively with captivating qualities. The final minute intermingles debonair vocal warmness and more excitable forward-looking whimsy, concocting a compelling sound with passionate doses of ’80s nostalgia, and concluding with atmospheric title-touting balladry.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
