Gentry Blue – “Lose No Sleep”

/

From the upcoming album of Nashville-based rockers Gentry Blue, “Lose No Sleep” is riveting single that bursts with hooky charisma. “Honey maybe, you were right,” the vocals let out during an especially magnetic chorus, where wordless vocal backing and crisply melodic guitar sequences arise into a bluesy fervency, as the vocals remark they “won’t lose no sleep tonight.” The single is described by Gentry Blue as “the latest in our series of songs about feral women who have committed atrocities; this song is about a woman facing a prison sentence.”

Lydia Gentry-DeBonis’ vocals present a commanding, dynamic engrossment throughout — rising seamlessly from the introspective lushness into the “put me away!” ardency. The “you thought I was crazy,” hooky unveiling is replay-inducing in its range from lush vocal reflections to punctuating guitar suaveness, firmly showcasing Gentry Blue as a band that can deftly balance dreamy intrigue and rock vigor. Gentry Blue thoroughly impress with this gem.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
