Although it was already clear with the unveiling of lead single “Myth” yesterday, Beach House finally confirmed their new album Bloom and its release date. As expected, it will be released on May 15th in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with Europe receiving it on the 14th and Australia on the 18th. The band said they wrote the album “between countless sound checks and myriad experiences during two years of tour.” The press release continues: “Throughout this period, melodies, chords, rhythms, words, and textures surfaced in moments of their own choosing. These spontaneous ideas were later gathered and developed in Baltimore, where the band lives and works.”
Bloom, with leading single “Myth,” was recorded in late 2011 at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillo, TX and mixed at Electric Lady in NYC. Like Teen Dream, the new album was co-produced by Beach House and Chris Coady.
The new information comes in the form of tour dates, where Beach House will travel the lower East Coast before flying to Europe. The duo are likely to return to the States in June, with a Central Park (NYC) show already planned for July.
