Sgmaniak – “Moonlight Feel”

/

Out today, “Moonlight Feel” is a stellar track from Sgmaniak. Fluid guitars and wordless, haunting backing vocals open the track alongside bubbling synths, with a percussive punch signaling the lead vocals’ entry. From here, “Moonlight Feel” consumes with an entrancing array of synths and guitars, complemented by confident and escalating vocals. The “meet me there!” vocal passion around 02:30 brings the track into a passionately consuming finale, where a lovely, bustling bass line and lively synths accompany spirited vocal work. “Moonlight Feel” is a striking success from Sgmanik, who impressed previously with the track “Fire” in 2018.

The track is fully self-produced and performed by Sgmaniak (excluding drums). The artist notes that the track was “inspired by the spiraling guitar melodies of Weird Fishes,” — touting a lusher, more ambient vibe in its first forms. After tracking drums in Quens, the track assumed a fuller, punchier feel.

“Moonlight Feel” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
