“Sculptures” is a new single from Swiss artist Johnny Simon, who composed, produced, and played all the instruments on the track. The sporadic backing vocal sampling and guitar-based emergence play entrancingly, especially as the lead vocals rise emotively amidst brassy resonance for a lovely hybrid of chamber-pop and folk. An atmospheric guitar-led chill around 01:30 develops into further passion from the vocals. The trumpet-laden conclusion strongly resonates with its yearning, solidifying the release’s standout production and compelling melodic direction.
