The Golden Dogs – “Homies”

/

Canadian act The Golden Dogs impress with their new single “Homies,” a contagious ode to friendship while also touching on the perils of giving advice. Crisp production and Brit-pop nostalgia resonate throughout.

Playful guitar tones complement lyrical comforts about the non-stressful vibes of quality friends — “homies got your back, boy.” A bouncier demeanor emerges thereafter, exuding a melodic infection reminiscent of primetime Brit-pop. The backing vocal reflections here, as well as the bursting guitar distortion, plays entrancingly. “Homies” is a delectably melodic success from The Golden Dogs.

Per the band, the track is “about giving advice to friends and that sometimes, it’s probably a good idea not to.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2022’ Spotify playlist.
