Cigarillo – “Bacon and Eggs”

/

Sounding like a lost cut from Blur’s classic album Parklife, “Bacon and Eggs” is a hooky delight from Cigarillo, the project of Marc Garnett (Brighton, Australia) and Ben White (Brighton, England). The track comes via their forthcoming album, Deodorant, out on November 18th.

Described as a “touching ode to parenthood,” the self-produced “Bacon and Eggs” rides amiably on playful guitar shimmers and peppy vocal work to start. The lyrical references — “half awake means half asleep,” while creeping through the house to avoid waking the baby — meets a likable refrain that proclaims they “wouldn’t change anything,” for their new addition. The quick-swiping guitars, reflective vocal harmonies, and brassy interjections add alongside for a riveting, catchy Brit-pop throwback success from Cigarillo.
