millhope – “Illusion”

/

Featuring an atmospheric blend of spacey synths and mellow guitars, “Illusion” is a track released today from millhope, the project of Thomas Mühlhoff, a producer, label owner, and product-inventor based in Cologne, Germany. The release represents the first of five singles from the upcoming album Truth&Dare.

Solemn guitars and a haunting textural backing exude a lonesome feeling to start. A more vibrant, spacey expanse follows; synths emerge with escalating charisma past the one-minute turn. As the guitars again take emphasis thereafter, a sense of momentum is evident. A percussive pulse follows as the glistening synths enter again, with the track excelling in its full arsenal here. The hypnotic synth work in the final section shifts into a focused electronic stylistic spectrum, concluding this stylish track with satiating qualities.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
