Velvet Halo – “Warm Night”

/

Late-night brass and soulful vocal layers craft a soundscape fitting for a track entitled “Warm Night,” marking an introspective success from Velvet Halo. The duo comprises Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and vocalist Justina Shandler, and Portland, Oregon-based multi-instrumentalist and producer David Thiele. They describe this as “a timely song about finding solace and comfort with the one you love amidst this world that seems to be chaotic and falling apart.”

“My heart might unravel,” both vocalists admit alongside solemn piano tones, escalating with dreamy mystique upon the “we’re frozen in time,” rise. “So hold me and we’ll float away,” they let out wistfully, as prancing piano traverses into the yearning for “a warm night and a memory,” as the smooth brass tones re-emerge. “Warm Night” is a riveting, atmospheric showcase in songwriting and soundscape alike from Velvet Halo.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
