Tarita – “Digital Void”

/

A meditative rock exploration of “ghosting” and its role in modern society, “Digital Void” is a new track from Tarita, an artist based in Chennai, India. Also a scientist by day, Tarita’s musical beginnings came at the age of 20, working with various cover bands across the UK and Poland. Tarita’s songwriting re-emerges after an 18-year hiatus, exploring a very modern topic with “Digital Void.”

Hazy guitar trickling embraces a lushly inviting soundscape, traversing seamlessly into a calming vocal presence that depicts a sort of “vanishing into the void,” in a technological sense. Lyrical references to “the act of leaving love behind,” and an ensuing “digital void,” coincide with a multi-layered vocal power and anthemic guitar soaring; there’s a timeless appeal apparent, evoking a classic psych-rock feeling that coincides with a modern singer/songwriter shine. “Digital Void” is a powerful showcase in songwriting from Tarita, offering a poignant lyrical lens alongside a stirring rock sound that deftly balances mellowness and soaring nostalgia.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
