The Colonies – “Fade”

/

“Fade” is a catchy track from Washington, DC-based The Colonies’ forthcoming third album, produced by the frontman for another local DC band, Jay Neymeyer of Color Palette. Suave, buzzing guitars and an ensuing bounciness lead the verses, leading into a perky hook with ample replay value. The additional guitar fluidity in the chorus, as the vocals assume a soaring tendency, adds some great tonal variation to the track. The Colonies have a grasp on catchy and memorable alternative, making me gladly anticipate their third album.

“Fade” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2018’ Spotify playlist.
