Pistol for Ringo – “Case of the Tuesdays”

/

“Case of the Tuesdays” shows a moody, yearning rock sound from California-based band Pistol for Ringo. Drawing praise for live performances around the West Coast, Pistol for Ringo pursue a sound with no particular place or time in mind on new EP Kings of Bad Behavior. There’s a classic-rock feel to the confident vocal swagger, though with interesting melodic turns and soundscapes indicative of modern indie roots. One example is “Nadeshiko Pink” and how it rides on a hook that sports a catchy synth line, amidst a vocal section that recalls soulful nostalgia. “Case of the Tuesdays” is in a darker, more remorseful vein, with a nice guitar-led turn around 01:09 into more shimmering heights. “Case of the Tuesdays” is a well-crafted rock track with an effectively gripping mood.

“Case of the Tuesdays” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.
