Damn Hands – “Gravity Waves”

/

“Gravity Waves” is the latest track from Austin-based band Damn Hands. Crisp guitar twangs open the track with a soaring sensibility amidst a pulsing bass line. Easy-going vocals align well, gearing into further vigor. “Oh, man. Even best laid plans,” the vocals start during a delectably murky hook, leading to a gliding guitar sequence with considerable melodic charm into the “filling days with everlasting patience,” line. This particular section reminds fondly of Deerhunter. “Gravity Waves” consumes throughout with a melodic, developing rock with a knack for catching structural shifts.

The track comes via the Holiday Weight EP, streaming below:

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2022’ Spotify playlist.
