Widows Gold – “My Time to Talk”

/

“My Time to Talk” is a resonating single from California-based quartet Widows Gold, via their new album, Love Drops. Per the band, the track “takes you on a journey through childhood frustration and longing for a chance to grow from the past.” Featured last year with fellow album cuts “Inside” and “I Can’t Help You,” Widows Gold satiate throughout Love Drops, with a consistent and dynamic sound with a tendency to expand from dreamy appeal into invigorating rock engrossment.

The soaring vocal envelopment and shimmering guitars on “My Time to Talk” craft a riveting soundscape from the get-go, with more distortion-friendly guitar tones excelling during the vocals’ rise, as the second minute approaches. “What’s the point in being heard when no one’s there to show you better?” the vocals ask during the verses, again rousing into a more rock-forward tonal ferocity during the vocal rise at the three-minute mark. “My Time to Talk” is another stirring, emotive success from Widows Gold.
