Dr. Rocket – “Haven’t I Seen Your Face Before?”

/

“Haven’t I Seen Your Face Before?” is the latest from Dr. Rocket, the solo project of Seattle-based artist Nick Carver. The self-produced success exudes a mellow psych-pop accessibility, centering around the title-referencing question alongside steady percussion and hazy synths. Guitar swipes add excitably at the one-minute turn, as the lyrics continue to wonder “maybe I saw you in my dreams.” Twangy guitar lines adorn thereafter into a catching synth-fronted bridge with escalating vocal fervency.

The effort marks another strong showing from Dr. Rocket, catching our ears in the past year with tracks like “Running in Circles” and “I Am A Bird.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
