Stephen James – “Turin Girl”

/

“Turin Girl” is a highly melodic new track from Stephen James and drummer Zach Meyer, touting a brisk sophisti-pop sound at times reminiscent of Prefab Sprout. The first single from their new EP Dead Phones and Dogs, “Turin Girl” runs at less than three minutes though touts a multitude of smart melodic shifts and individual hooks. Whereas the first half shows more of a sophisti-pop arsenal, the final minute is more of an exuberant rock-forward effervescence with emotive appeal. “Turin Girl” is a delightful listen.

“Turn Girl” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock.
