Otis Shanty – “Early Birds”

/

“Early Birds” showcases the hazily melodic rock sound from Otis Shanty, a quartet from Somerville, Massachusetts. The release represents Otis Shanty’s debut single, and is the title track from their upcoming album.

The morning-set contemplations — “the early bird gets the worm; well, good for you,” leads enjoyably into the “I won’t move a muscle today,” declaration, furthered by hypnotic guitar jangles and spacey synth wavering. The slacker-rock aesthetic and apt lyrical accompaniments exude a self-confident vigor, set with compelling qualities as dreamy vocals, light synths, and jangly guitars beautifully converge.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2023’ Spotify playlist.
